Thank You to Our Supporters

In order to maintain our intensive education, clinical and research programs, RIDBC needs to raise $3.5M every month

Community support, corporate partnerships, and philanthropy are key sources of funding for RIDBC. They enable us to provide vital services for Australians with vision or hearing loss.

Community Fundraising

2016 was a successful year in community fundraising as people with all kinds of interests fundraised over $175,000 for RIDBC schools, programs and services.

We would like to thank all of our community fundraisers who gave their spare time passionately planning, training and going out of their way to spread the word about RIDBC to raise awareness and much needed funds.

RIDBC Ability Day Fair

RIDBC students celebrated the end of the school year at the RIDBC Ability Day Fair. Teachers, students, their families and the wider community joined in a day of games, demonstrations by the Police, Fire and Ambulance and a barbecue lunch.

Local businesses provided interactive and fun stalls, and sold products and raffle tickets.

RIDBC also received support from the students and their families, our staff and from local businesses donating items for the stalls, sausage sizzle and coffee cart.

City2Surf

In 2016, Athavan participated in the City2Surf to raise money for RIDBC in support of his sister Harini who has bilateral cochlear implants. Athavan was so determined to get to the finish line, he hadn’t realised he lost his dad and friends in the crowd. He finished the race in three hours with his mum and sister waiting at the finish line.
