RIDBC generally assists students with levels of hearing and vision impairment that are significant and would benefit from individual education.
In general, we accept children with:
- Visual acuity of 6/24 or poorer in the better eye (after correction) and/or a field of vision of 15 degrees or less; and/or
- Hearing impairment of 60 db or greater in the better ear.
We do, however, consider the combined effects of two or more disabilities, and may enrol children with lesser levels of either impairment.
