RIDBC offers diagnostic and educational support for children with hearing impairment.
Diagnostic services, offered through the RIDBC Jim Patrick Audiology Centre, reflect the extreme importance of early diagnosis, or fluctuations in hearing loss, followed by quality intervention programs. This is crucial to a child’s ability to learn language.
RIDBC’s educational services begin as early as possible in a child’s life, with assessment and planning services, home-based family support, playgroups and preschools. RIDBC’s special educational programs continue throughout a child’s schooling, either at our own special schools, or through support for children at regular schools.
Even more importantly, we offer support for the whole family. We believe parents and families play the most important role in a child’s education.
