RIDBC aims to support parents as much as possible in their role as chief educator of their child.
Some of the services we offer for parents of children with sensory and intellectual impairment include:
- Special learning groups.
- Playgroups, enabling interaction with other parents.
- Access to RIDBC’s Continuing Education program.
- Regular newsletters, including one from the Renwick Library on the newest book and video resources available to parents.
- An extensive list of Internet resources.
Parents are welcome to contact RIDBC at any time with their queries. Either phone the relevant service, or contact us on (02) 9871 1233.
Special learning groups
RIDBC organises special learning groups, or support groups, for parents.
For example, our Educational Psychologists run regular groups addressing topics such as behaviour management.
