Generally, RIDBC assists students if their corrected vision is 6/24 or more severe, or if their field of vision is 15 degrees or less.
However, RIDBC assesses each child individually, particularly if more than one disability is involved.
RIDBC offers consulting and advisory assistance to students with less severe vision impairment (between 6/24 and 6/36), including access to the Adaptive Technology Centre. More intensive assistance is offered to students with vision impairment above 6/36.
