Royal Institute for Deaf and Blind Children (RIDBC) has been selected as the chosen charity partner for this year’s SILMO Sydney Optical Fair, which will make its Australian debut at the International Convention Centre in Darling Harbour from 9 – 11 March.

The three day event, presented by Expertise Events, will have over 70 optics and eyewear industry exhibitors with an estimated 5000 – 6000 visitors.

Expertise Events Managing Director, Gary Fitz-Roy said, “We are happy to announce that the Royal Institute for Deaf and Blind Children has come on as our official charity with funds being donated to the organisation from our revenue along with them having a presence at the show.”

All funds raised at SILMO Sydney will help RIDBC continue to make a difference in the lives of children and adults with vision or hearing loss.

"RIDBC is delighted to be involved in the 2017 SILMO Sydney Optical Fair and be represented as the official chosen charity partner," said RIDBC Community and Fundraising Executive, Megan Thomas.

“This is a fantastic initiative and a great opportunity for the optic and eyewear industry to support a local charity providing services to children and adults with vision loss. We also look forward to raising awareness about vision loss and showcasing our innovative services at the fair.”

RIDBC is a charity and Australia’s largest non-government provider of therapy, education and cochlear implant services for people with vision or hearing loss, supporting thousands of adults, children and their families, each year.

RIDBC relies heavily on fundraising and community support to be able to continue to make a difference in people's lives.

RIDBC is raising awareness about vision loss at the fair and welcomes visitors to its stand. For more information visit silmosydney.com
