The RIDBC Renwick Centre offers comprehensive online learning programs covering: Interactive Lectures, Audio and Video Resources, Downloads, Forums and Quizzes. Many of these resources are free to access, however some require registration.
This series of free, interactive lectures has been created by the RIDBC Renwick Centre. It is aimed at anyone looking for an introduction to hearing impairment and the human auditory system.
There are eight lectures available. Topics covered include the anatomy of the ear, causes of hearing loss, types and degree of hearing loss, audiograms, problems experienced by people with a hearing impairment, hearing aids, Cochlear implants, hearing testing centres and tactics to help when communicating with people who have a hearing loss.

There are a range of resources available providing an overview of the history of braille and an introduction to the braille code. These include braille facts, nearly 20 minutes of videos, a crossword puzzle, 10 quiz questions, article reviews and links to other interesting web-sites (plus much more!).
A small number of resources are available here to assist you in learning more about vision impairment, strategies to consider when working with children with a vision impairment and adaptive technologies and instruments.
This e-learning site supports the Teacher Aide Vision Impairment Course. This course is offered as part of the continuing education program, RIDBC Renwick Centre. Please refer to CPE Calendar for next availble dates.
Upon signing up on the course, you will access to a series of modules which provide resources relevant to the teacher aide role in vision impairment, including topics on the Teacher Aide role, legal considerations, Blindness and Vision Impairment, etc. A Discussion Board will used for online discussion on the modules. It can also be used to discuss topics relevant to your work, chat with one another and receive messages from the course facilitators.
This website contains self-paced learning activities and supplementary readings for the two day workshop conducted in Sydney 2010.

The RIDBC Auslan Tutor is a portable video-based Australian Sign Language (Auslan) teaching resource developed specifically for the iPhone and iPod touch.
It is designed for families of young deaf children to assist them to learn Auslan and promote early communication between parent and child. Over 500 signs are included. These signs were carefully chosen as those most needed by families in their interactions with, and teaching of, their young deaf children. Go to RIDBC Auslan Tutor site for details.
