The Rydge Family Library is open to staff, parents and students of RIDBC / the University of Newcastle. The library is not open to the general public. Appointments to visit the library should be made with the Librarian.
Renwick students are able to borrow a maximum of fifteen items at time. Book loans are for four weeks. Audio visual and high demand texts are for one week. Required readings may be on three-day loan only.
Renewals may be made twice unless the material is in high demand. Books may also be requested from the libraries of the University of Newcastle, to be collected at Renwick, or posted to distance students.
Reference books and journal articles may not be borrowed. Photocopying facilities are available in the library.
RIDBC staff, parents and volunteers are also able to make use of the Rydge Family Library resources to support their information needs. All loans are at the discretion of the librarian.
Past students of the Renwick Centre may continue to borrow books only from the library (no electronic access) on payment of an annual fee.
The Rydge Family Library participates in resource sharing through inter-library loans and document delivery with other libraries in the Libraries Australia network.
