The Rydge Family Library is a highly specialised collection of sensory impairment resources designed to support the RIDBC Renwick Centre's research and postgraduate programs. Our collection has been growing steadily for over twenty years, collecting relevant research and scholarly literature written in the field of education for the sensory impaired child, from both Australia and overseas.
Postal loans of texts and assessment materials, DVDs and monographs are available to Renwick distance students. Librarians will also access and email journal articles, book chapters and perform database searches to assist students as required. Please contact the librarian to discuss your needs.
The Rydge Family Library moved into a new, purpose-built facility in 2010. With more space to house the collection, the flexibility of a Wi-Fi network and laptops for students to access e-learning materials, we offer a comfortable and modern environment for students and staff. A quiet study room is available for group or individual student use. The library is adjacent to the Renwick Centre Student Common Room, with access to kitchen facilities, a DVD player and study space.
Remote access to online material via NEWCAT ensures that distance students and staff, wherever they are working, have access to the information they need. E-books, journal articles and short loan readings are available online. Within the library, desktop PCs, printing and photocopying
facilities, DVD players, laptops and a Wi-Fi network ensure that students have access to the study facilities they require for effective learning and research.
