RIDBC Early Learning Program (Vision Impairment)

The RIDBC Early Learning Program (Vision Impairment) is for children aged 0-6 years who have impaired vision.

The RIDBC Early Learning team works with families to design, develop and implement an individual program for each child.

RIDBC Early Learning Programs (Vision Impairment) are based at:

  • Nepean (Penrith)
  • North Rocks (Sydney)
  • Campbelltown (Sydney)
  • Sutherland (Sydney)
  • Central Coast (Ourimbah)
  • Hunter (Newcastle)
  • Narrabeen (Sydney)
  • Across Australia through our RIDBC Teleschool.

The program can include a mix of any of the following services:

  • Assessment and planning – to determine the future needs of each child
  • RIDBC Low Vision Clinic
  • Centre-based visits, giving parents individual time with our team of special educators and therapists
  • Home-based visits
  • Playgroups – fun learning experiences for both children and parents
  • Parent support and learning groups (eg, learning to produce braille)
  • Therapy services
  • RIDBC Adaptive Technology Centre

The RIDBC Dorothy Paul Family Resource Centre has toys, books, braillers and other resources available to borrow.
