The National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) is a new way of providing support to people with disability, their families and carers. The focus of the NDIS is on giving children, adults and families, choice and control over their disability support. This is provided through individualised funding packages that assist children and adults to achieve their goals.

All eligible NDIS participants receive an individualised support plan. The National Disability Insurance Agency (NDIA) assists you and your family to develop this plan, taking account of personal goals and the specialist support required to achieve those goals. If you need assistance from a disability service provider such as RIDBC, your plan can include these supports and services.

As part of RIDBC providing support to you or your family as you access the NDIS, we have launched a website that guides families, adults and health professionals through the services that we provide – including where these services might best be accessed.

This site sits in addition to our main website and allows you to run through a very quick questionnaire to access a tailored page of information about how we can help you or your family under NDIS. With answers to a few simple questions we can tailor a unique results page for you that shows:

  • Information on relevant RIDBC services that you might be benefit from (e.g. services for a parent of a two year old with a vision impairment compared to an adult who has a hearing loss);
  • Location specific information such as your closest centre and how to register for NDIS information sessions we are running in your local area; and
  • Stories of people in a similar situation to yours that RIDBC has helped.

We encourage you to check out the new site, or pass along the link to someone you feel might benefit from the support available through RIDBC! To find out more, just head to ndis.ridbc.org.au
